“ I have been in staying in Desenzano Garda Lake all week on a work trip. I had some lovely Italian food for six nights but I really was yearning for some spicy delicious authentic food. I found El Mexico Tex-Mex on trip advisor and although I didn't have a car I walked 25 mins just to eat at this place because of the reviews and I was not disappointed. Lovely, piping hot, freshly made mouth watering tasty food and very generous portions. And to top it all off the most incredible hosts. I wish I could have tasted everything on the menu but alas I was bursting. I didn't want to do the walk back and the young man who is the owner drive me back. If you are fed up pizza do go check this cute till gem . X ”

“ Had a very nice late dinner here last night. The place was packed and they managed to get my friend and I a table quickly without a reservation. The fajita mix and chicken burrito were both very good. Regarding the negative reviews: I’ve had authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex food in the past and I can tell you the tortillas in this restaurant are fine and so are the other ingredients. Is this the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the world in terms of spices and other subtle nuances? No, it’s not, but for a Mexican restaurant in Italy it’s definitely very good, probably as good as it can get. Is it more expensive than one would expect? Yes, a bit, but that’s understandable given that it’s located in a tourist area. They also have a very extensive selection of drinks and some are quite pricey, like top quality tequila, but certainly not more expensive than anywhere else. The decor is lovely and the staff makes you feel comfortable and welcome. Very enjoyable experience and fresh, delicious food. ”

“ Excellent experience. One of very few good Mexican restaurant options in the area. They have a large, extensive menu with a lot of vegetarian and vegan options, if that's your thing. We had reservations, greeted and seated immediately. The staff was all prompt, courteous, friendly, helpful and fun. The food came out pretty quick, hot fresh and delicious. The place is tucked back a little into a side street, away from most traffic, excellent job on making it feel like you were in a different atmosphere. As one of our party put it, "it really feels like you are on holiday." The Pollo Locco was awesome, we also have beef and vegitarian fajitas, bean burrito, melted cheese nachos and vegan triangles. Everything was thoroughly enjoyed. Only complaint would be the prices are a little steep, but the atmosphere, staff and especially the food are great. We will be back without a doubt. ”
